Well, we all made it in one piece and were greeted with an amazing day in Juneau! The sun was peaking through the clouds, the temperatures felt warm, and there was no wind...it was amazing.
Aaron took me around to a few places, including the Mendenhall Glacier which just happens to be about 10 minutes away from our housing.
Across the lake is Nugget Falls (above). It was spectacular scenery, and I made Aaron be silly and play the tourist and take a few pictures with me.
We bought pillows, blankets, and dog food so we'll get the room set up tonight. Tomorrow we plan to do some cleaning around the housing unit, meet some folks at Temsco (the helicopter company that works with AIE), and whatever else needs to be done.
Fresh air, breath taking views, more coffee kiosks that I can count, and a Fred Meyers (not sure why we thought we needed to go shopping before we came, they have everything there!).
Yes, indeed...life is good.
Glad you made it safely!
